ActivitiesProgramsEach monthly guild meeting features a program or speaker to enjoy. Visit the calendar for details. Show and TellAfter the program at our monthly meetings, the guild members host an impromptu "Show and Tell" session. This gives the members a chance to see other members completed projects. View our guild show and tell photos!Community ServiceThe AAQG sponsors a variety of projects in which members use their sewing and quilting skills to contribute to the greater Ankeny area. Our guild members have generously made and donated over 100 quilts to Children & Family Services of Iowa and Child Serve in 2008. These beautiful quilts will be on display at our quilt show in July.
Look at all the donation quilts for Children & Family Services The Ankeny Area Quilt Guild has had the opportunity to send quilts to two African orphanages this year. The first orphanage is The Pines in South Africa, a past Ankeny resident, Lois (Cain ) Niehoff and her husband Brian are general managers at The Pines providing health care and building construction. The second orphanage is in Nigeria, Cornerstone of Hope you may have seen it's founder Eric Idehen on WHO tv last week. In total we have sent 23 twin size quilts to these two organizations.

May be modest about their talents, although they may be considerable, and shares that knowledge and enthusiasm of quilting with others. May be involved in other community service activities. May have offered a number of years of service to the guild.
